What We Do

StudioX creates a platform and infrastructure for hospitalized children to connect virtually with, and learn from, creative mentors via video conferencing software.  An animator from Pixar gives a drawing lesson, a celebrity chef (think Ayesha Curry) demos some cooking tips and tricks, and a popular teen writer teaches kids how to create a compelling protagonist.

Children can participate in visits either in hospital activity rooms or, for kids who are in isolation, bedside. All sessions are monitored by a Child Life specialist who ensures the online experience is safe for children and HIPPA and privacy rules are adhered to. The technology is html-based and can be accessed from any browser, enabling the StudioX program to be rolled out to any hospital with internet access.

StudioX will increase its impact each year by growing its network of creative mentors and the number of sessions held.
